It's a Truvativ product - SRAM owns the brand, just like Avid and RockShox.

The Truvativ brand covers BBs, cranks, chainrings, bars, stems, seatposts, etc...
Avid covers brakes
SRAM covers derailleurs, cassettes, triggers, etc..
and we all know what RockShox covers..

On a full suspension bike, the Rohloff adds a significant amount of weight to the rear wheel (unsprung mass) which will adversely affect rear wheel traction. on a full suspension bike, I rather have the extra weight be low and centered, like the HammerSchmidt in this case. Rohloff would work well on a HT.

do you really think press releases only get sent to one web site? I got this press release directly from Shawn of Diablo Freeride Park.

these press releases are submitted to Pinkbike and we are given to choice to post them or not. So ultimately we decide if it's news worthy or not. don't think for a second that Pinkbike gets $$ for posting these.

Some press-release are better than others, but ike someone mentioned - some news/pictures/results is better than none - reason why I choose to post them.

We would LOVE to hit all these venues and bring you some coverage - but reality is that it's unrealistic to do that. Like in my case for example, I have a full time day job, not like I can take week long vacations just to cover an event - even if I would love to ;o)

Thanks for understanding!
- Luc

as far as I know - the Pike remains unchanged. Pike is intended more for aggressive applications. so you can go with the lightweight focused version (Revelation) or the stiffer aggressive use version (Pike).

negative. a 400# spring is a 400# spring - doesn't matter if it's Ti or Steel or any other material for that matter. Linear vs progressive on the other hand is a different story.

spoiledgoods: the only reasons why a Ti spring would feel or react differently than a steel spring is because of:
1 - Spring end conditions are different than the steel spring (noticed how most Ti springs have open ends unlike most Steel springs which are closed)
2 - spring isn't accurately rated (says 400# but could well be 425, 250, 375..)
3 - spring isn't linear due #1
4 - all of the above

it's a bit more than that. it also reduces unsprung weight which in some cases will enhances control characteristics of the bike. you can save up to half a pound just by using a Ti spring. For some that's important. Say you have an all-mountain mountain bike with a coil shock, half a pound starts making a difference after being in the saddle for a few hours - I know it does for me.

there is no better or worse - both Steel and Ti will perform the same. Like Eder mentioned, with the added bonus of Ti springs is that you get to save a few grams.

which is a few years late. The ethirteen LG-1 has been around since 2005 and was under development/testing for at least a year before that. it was first seen on Fabien Barel's bike at Mont St-Anne (with current taco).
