X-Fusion/Intense 2009 Team

Posted: Mar 20, 2009

X-Fusion/Intense is proud to announce it will be working with rideSFO for the 2009 season. We have come together as sponsorship partners to help attack the lifestyle side of the mountain bike industry. Both X-Fusion/Intense and rideSFO, a community and retail marketplace, have a strong tie in the Bay Area Cycling Scene that we wish to spread with the rest of the world. rideSFO’s commitment to an international cycling team shows that they are ready to expand their business and love of the sport outside of our bay area biking mecca.

rideSFO is also an up and coming cycling event company and having them backing our race team will not only help us with our serious racing program, but also help to spread our lifestyle and passion to the everyday cyclist. Their events such as the San Francisco Bicycle Expo bring out the culture of our sport and X-Fusion/Intense is looking forward to being involved for 2009.

Not trying to be a dick, serious question....

Has anyone ridden anything from X fusion that was nice? I've only ever ridden one of their shocks and I have no idea what model it was, it was on the new Specialize Pitch... but it felt like crap.

Reminded me of the old elastomer Rock Shox Judy's, not a good thing at all...

I'm currently riding an x-fusion glyder rear shock, and for how it looks, it is a suprisingly decent shock, although I am upgrading soon.

Like I said, that was my only experience with them but I'd written them off as crap. Guess it may be worth giving them a second look.

This is the same ride I demo'd that felt like doodoo...

Is that one of their lower end shocks or something?

i dont know how your complaning badbadlerybrown.
I rep a x-fusion velvet on my hardtail, best fork ive ridden hands down
im not riding anything else on my hardtail again. Plus the rear shock felt like
crap because it wasnt set up right, even a roco or DHX can feel like shit.

Ease up there Petrovic, I'm not complaining or trying to bash them... I was asking. Like I said, it's the one and only time I've ever even seen an xfusion and it very well may have been set up like shit, that's why I was asking. I didnt figure all these sick sponsors would be lining up with them if they were a crap company so I figured I'd ask...

to badbadleyroybrown, i have an x-fusion dh2 on my bike and i think its the best thing i have ever riden. its more responsive than the dhx 5.0 and lighter, by a pretty good amount. PLus the guys at x-fusuion are super cool and you can call them up and actually talk to one of them. plus my dh2 has a wider range of adjustablity than the 5.0 or the roco. So yes i have riden a x-fusion that i liked. plus the velvet is dope.

x fusion makes really nice suspension, but the thing is, anything that comes stock on a bike from them is usually crap. their high end stuff is suppper nice, but other stuff craps out. its like comparing specialized' hardrocks and demos.

Just like any other mtb companies, you gotta start somewhere. X-fusion from my experience is freakin awesome !! Thier forks/rear shocks are smooth and silky, the people that work there are super cool, and i'll always support them REGARDLESS !! Phil and the gang at rideSFO are also awesome. I just met Jessie ( from rideSFO ) last wednesday for a session at both our local bmx jump parks here in the bay area, and it seemed like I knew him for years. Super cool, very supportative, and a perfect rep for rideSFO ( he can also rip on a session ). With X-fusion's line up of sponsors, im sure they'll do well at the races, product distribution / customer service needs, and support.

i think people judge X-fusion on the reputation they build up from several years ago, when the suspension being made by ANYONE was pretty awful, and unfortunatly this has stuck with X-fusion, as people still see them as being a lower end producer. im not saying this is right or wrong, but i do think its best to wate untill their equipment has been tested to a high standard (WC racers etc) before we can pass judgement on their currant suspension.
