All you need is to take time and put proper frame protection (noise dampening ) where the chain slaps…problem solved. I have an Alpine and Five and both are completely silent.

Same here. I love my 08 and 09 Reign's and really wanted to get a new one, but I won't ride a bike that doesn't allow for a proper 2 ring chain management system.

Mike - I'm convinced you'll love that damper. I'm sure RS took care of you and send you the right tune, which is also pretty important. I'm not a big fan of air shocks (run coil on all my bikes now), but the MP is the only air shock I'd be willing to consider. I rocked a RT3 for part of the winter and it felt surprisingly good, better than an RP23 on the same bike - but still prefer the constant damping characteristics of a coil shock.
